KARACHI: MCC Enforcement Karachi has seized a large quantity of foreign-origin smuggled edible oil, which was being transported to Karachi via Super Highway.
Information was received through Collector Feroz Alam Hunejo to Additional Collector Honnak Baloch o the effect that an oil tanker carrying smuggled edible oil was plying on a super highway in an attempt to smuggle edible oil to the other parts of the country.
Acting upon this information, Deputy Collector Inamullah Wazir constituted a team led by Preventive Officer M. Asfandyar to intercept the said oil tanker.
The Customs team reached at the identified area and found the said oil tanker was moving on the Karachi toll plaza super highway, Karachi, which was signaled to stop.
The occupant of the vehicle introduced himself as Muhammad Irfan Khan. He was then enquired about the load in the tanker over which he couldn’t give a plausible answer.
