KARACHI: Chief Collector of Customs Appraisement (South) Wajid Ali has directed all the Colectorates of South to put restrictions on physical interactions between Customs officers and agent, specially for submission of original passport and Export Certificate etc. in connection with clearance of old and used vehicles.

Establishing a special desk has been directed on Ground Floor of Customs House Karachi for the receipt of related documents under proper acknowledgment, meanwhile the direct entry into the relevant premises of Collectorates would not be allowed for clearance of vehicles.

Coordination in this regard may also be done with the Customs Agents Association and CCTV monitoring of the desk/counter for receipt of documents should be done by concerned Additional and Deputy Collectors of Head Quarters.

Chief Collector directed the Appraisement Collectorates to submit the compliance report within one week.
