ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has booked the mastermind of  an active network involved in visa fraud specially in Panama immigration scam in Capital and surroundings.

The suspect Asif Raheem has been arrested in a raid conducted by the team of FIA Human Trafficking Circle Islamabad Zone here Islamabad on Tuesday.

According to the Director FIA Islamabad Waqar Chohan, several complaints were revived by the FIA that acused Asif Raheem along with his accomplices was active for running illegal travel agency with out license and was defrauding innocent people by collecting millions of rupees,

Investigations against the network were started when an inquiry was registered in FIA Anti Human Trafficking Circle Islamabad and Deputy Director of the Circle Zubair Ahmed Shaikh constituted and raiding team which rushed into the office of illegal travel agency’s office situated in Sector I/8 and took the custody of suspect Asif Raheem and seized the relevant documents and mobile phones for forensic analysis.

A senior official told Indus Gazette that evidences against accused have been collected which show that he took Rs 3 million from a family to settle them in Panama on investment based immigration.

FIA team, after the registrations of the FIR, produced the accused in court and got three day’s physical remand for further interrogation.

he further revealed that Asif was active along with his sub agents to allure the people under the garb of travel agent and immigration expert with out any license.

FIA team recovered several passports and other relevant documents from the possession of caused and started a search operation for his crime partners.
