Quetta: Customs preventive Quetta has spread up the crackdown against the smugglers province wide in the light of the directions of Prime Minister.
According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Customs Baluchistan Enforcement Dr Atta Baraich several teams of Customs Preventive raided near Kolpur Check Post and Baluchistan-Sindh highway and recovered thousands tin of Iranian smuggled Juices which were being brought and transported in the consignment of Tomato.
he further informed Indus Gazette that in another raid Customs team seized huge quantity of Mono Sodium Glutamate, Indian Gutka, Betel Nuts, Dry Fruits, banned Chinese Salt and other stuff which were transported in 4 Trucks into the Country.
According to the Customs officials total worth of the seized goods is approximately over 700 million on which revenue loss was being caused to National Exchequer amounting in millions.
During the previous month several reports were submitted to the office of Chairman FBR and Member Customs Operations Tariq Huda by the Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation that smugglers were being using Baluchistan-Sindh rout frequently for transporting the smuggled goods via Multan region into the Country, reacting on these reports Chief Collector Enforcement Baluchistan Muhammad Sadiq directed Collector Dr Fareed Khan to beef up the efforts to curb the menace of smuggling.
In recent 48 ours several teams of Customs Preventive under the supervision of Add Moeen Afzal, AC Yousuf Marri, Inspector Rehmat Ullah Khan has raided several points on secret information and in surveillance.
