KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate JIAP has seized cocaine worth Rs 74 million from Karachi International Airport in a major interception here on Monday.
The cache of cocaine in 3.5 kg quantity was being smuggled from Africa for Pakistan.
According to the details, a Passenger namely, Javed Rahi arrived on Karachi Airport from Ethiopia on a foreign airline’s flight No, EK600, where the staff of Model Customs Collectorate JMPC, posted on International arrival, upon a tip thoroughly checked the Passenger and recovered 3.5 kg of high quality cocaine was recovered from his bag which was skillfully concealed.
The price of cocaine in the local market is said to be over Rs 74 million which has been seized and a case has been registered against the accused after his arrest.
The accused has been handed over to the investigation team for further legal action
