KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed M/s Unitech Industry Services to pay differential amounts in shape of bank guarantee or pay order to get its imported consignment released from Customs.
The consignment is comprised of imported smart watches Bluetooth, earphones, hand frees, earphones covers and other related goods that was confiscated by Collectorate of Model Customs Appraisement Jinnah International Airport (AFU).
SHC also directed Custom officials to release the said consignment after securing of differential amount from M/s Unitech Industry Services
On 21 February 2022 a two-member bench heard the matter, during the hearing, counsel for the petitioner argued that petitioner imported smart watches Bluetooth, earphones, hand frees, earphones covers and other related goods and filed a goods declaration according to law.
Customs officials, despite submission of goods declaration, assessed on very high value after the arguments, court directed customs officials to released above mentioned goods after securing differential amounts on shape of bank guarantee, pay order. Court also directed them to make sure filing their respective para wise comments for next date of hearing.
