KARACHI: Inspector General of Sindh police Mushtaq mahar has taken a stern decision regarding the officers with patchy record and banned them for further postings.

IG Sindh Mushtaq mahar has issued a letter containing strict directions to all zonal DIGs, District SSP, SSP Investigation, DIG Traffic and SSPs Traffic.

Document available with Indus Gazette reads as” It has been observed with great concern that officers of Sindh Police especially upper subordinates having patchy record/ involved in criminal cases are assigned field postings i.e. SHO, Incharge Investigation, Chowki Incharge, Incharge Traffic Chowki etc”.

It further goes as “I am directed to convey that in future no such officers of your Range or Unit having patchy record/involved in criminal cases shall be assigned field posting. Similarly those officers who have a criminal record but have been acquitted due to compromise shall not be given field posting either”.

IG directs that “The IGP Sindh has directed that all such officers having criminal record shall be removed from field postings immediately and a certificate in this regard along with a list of officials who have been removed shall be sent to this office as per enclosed proforma within a period of seven days for the perusal of inspector General of Police, Sindh”.

Mushtaq Mahar at the end in the letter has sent clear message that “The above directions shall be complied with in letter & spirit and any dereliction in this regard shall be viewed seriously”.
