KARACHI: The Sindh High Court in its order directed M/S Nishat Power Ltd Lahore to pay differential amount of customs duty and ordered the officials of Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement West to release the blocked consignment.
Its is pertinent to mention that officials of Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement West blocked the consignment comprising on spare parts, pipes etc, imported by M/S Nishat Power Ltd Lahore for its power plants, surfacing the difference in paid amount of duty and taxes.
The counsel for company argued during the hearing in petition by the power generation company which sought similar relief. that company is suffering from accumulating demuurage charges as the goods are lying in the custody of the Pakistan Customs.
